Samuel C.P. Baldwin, Jr., is a partner and founder of the firm. He has practiced law for over 20 years. Mr. Baldwin graduated from the University of Virginia in 1979 (BA, Biology) and received his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in, 1984. Additionally, he holds a degree from the University of Chicago School of Hospitals and Clinics (1983. Respiratory Therapy Program). He interned with Robert Verderaime, Verderaime, DuBois, P.A., Jonas R. Rappeport, MD, Medical Office of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Judge Norman P. Ramsey, and Chief Judge Frank A. Kaufman, both of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland before serving as law clerk to Chief Judge Ernest A. Loveless. Jr., Prince George’s County Circuit Court and Administrative Judge of the Seventh Circuit of Maryland. Thereafter, he associated with the law offices of Oliver R. Guyther and later with John E. Pleisse before opening his own legal practice in 1988. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, St. Mary’s County Bar Association and a past president of the St. Mary’s County Bar Association. He has been a mediator of custody and visitation issues for the Circuit Court of St. Mary’s County, Maryland since the program was initiated. His community activities include having served as a member and a Drug Abuse Advisory Council of the St. Mary’s County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Board, the St. Mary’s County Mental Health, Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Advisory Council, and as chairman of the St. Mary’s County Disabled Persons Review Board and the St. Mary’s County Marcy House Review Board. He was a volunteer youth soccer coach for approximately 16 seasons and has taught Catechism for 13 years. He is currently a member of St. John’s Parish Advisory Council and the Historic St. Mary’s Foundation.
