Richard J. Steinmetz, Jr. is a partner in The Law Offices of Baldwin, Briscoe & Steinmetz, P.C. and heads the firm’s personal injury and criminal law practices. He joined the firm in 2011. Mr. Steinmetz’s practice includes personal injury, civil litigation, and criminal defense. He has significant experience handling many types of litigation, including landlord-tenant, real property, and business disputes. Mr. Steinmetz also litigates cases before the Maryland appellate courts.

Mr. Steinmetz grew up in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He attended East Stroudsburg University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1997.

After graduating from East Stroudsburg University, Mr. Steinmetz moved to Washington, D.C. He attended the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2001. Mr. Steinmetz earned a certificate in Law and Public Policy at Catholic University. Mr. Steinmetz was previously an associate attorney with Andrews, Bongar, Gormley & Clagett, P.A.

In Washington, D.C., he gained experience working as a law clerk for the Republican National Committee, the National Association of HomeBuilders, and the Law Offices of Patrick G. Senftle, P.C.

Mr. Steinmetz resides in La Plata, Maryland, with his wife, Susan, and his two daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and running marathons and half marathons.
