Associate Attorney
Duke May, V, is an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Baldwin, Briscoe & Steinmetz, P.C. Mr. May came to our firm after being a prosecutor here in St. Mary’s County for several years. His law practice includes, but is not limited to commercial law, estate/trust planning and administration, land use, contracts, business formation/strategic planning, zoning and environmental law, personal injury, criminal and civil litigation.
Mr. May was born and raised in St. Mary’s County. He attended Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD and Katholiek Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business. Afterwards, he attended University of Baltimore School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor, cum laude with a concentration in Real Estate Law. During law school, Mr. May worked as a Rule 16 Student Attorney in the Community Development Clinic, a law clerk for Rich and Henderson, P.C. Annapolis, MD, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Office of Enforcement and Compliance. After law school, Mr. May worked as a judicial law clerk in Baltimore County, MD.
Mr. May resided in Baltimore County after graduating from law school, where he was previously an associate attorney at Rice, Murtha, & Psoras, LLC, and Smith, Gildea, & Schmidt, LLC. He returned to his hometown of St. Mary’s County where he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting felony and misdemeanor crimes.
Mr. May resides in St. Mary’s County with his wife and children. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys kayaking, boating, and crabbing.
